I have a deep love and respect for Ísak, we’ve got some shared experiences and views on life. I love that our creativity as humans is expressed in many different forms, and songwriting can communicate truths ‘right to the middle bit’ as Luke put it.

Being present is something I think we should all strive for, the art of stilling our restless minds and focusing on the moment and those we share it with. It’s a precious gift we’re able to give both to ourselves and anyone that’s in our company.

I think if anything the current global pandemic is stripping away the many excuses we have for not being present in our lives. However, being present is a discipline and habit that needs pursuing, developing and growing - it’s not something that comes easy.
Maybe there’s an element of control we need to let go of? Maybe we need to stop fretting about the ‘next thing’ and be true to ourselves, perfectly present in every moment and let the rest take care of itself?
When I was young, I wouldn’t settle, for anything less, than the future of my life.
Now I see I was so distant, all of it a total distraction, from my life.

And Oh, the rear view mirror tells, the story best.
This too shall pass, so be present while it lasts, this will also go.
You won’t break you will grow, the start is a certain, as the closing of the curtain.
So just keep on going till the end.

In the dark I was so frightened, fighting things I only imagined, I was lost.
All the shade that overtook me, trying to get through it quickly, Oh, I was lost.

And Oh, the rear view mirror tells, the story best.
This too shall pass, so be present while it lasts, this will also go.
You won’t break you will grow, the start is a certain, as the closing of the curtain.
So just keep on going till the end.
And Oh, the rear view mirror tells, the story best.
This too shall pass, so be present while it lasts, this will also go.
You won’t break you will grow, the start is a certain, as the closing of the curtain.
So just keep on going till the end.

Please just be present to the end.
Yes, please just be present to the end.
